About Joint and Grain

jointandgrain.com is a reference and news website for furniture. It is intended for anyone in Europe who makes, buys, sells, studies, or repairs furniture. The site focuses on the piece and the joinery holding it together, prioritising construction over styling. Its sections cover specific furniture pieces, construction methods, buying advice, brands and makers, care and repair, industry news, room-by-room guides, and standards relating to sustainability.

The news section reports on developments within the furniture industry. Each story is a factual rewrite from named, publicly available sources, which are linked. Where possible, reports are checked against each other for accuracy. Every article carries a clear publication date. No information, including statistics, is invented by jointandgrain.

The site builds permanent reference pages on furniture types, construction methods, brands, classic designs, designers, and materials. Each reference entry is built around a standardised facts table, detailed explanatory sections, and at least one real, credited photograph. These pages are revised when new information becomes available through our news coverage or when errors are identified.

jointandgrain is not affiliated with any manufacturer, retailer, trade association, or designer it reports on. The site carries no advertising for specific products and will never feature betting or gambling-related content. Any significant corrections made to our material are documented openly on a dedicated corrections page.
