Jet Expands Benchtop Tool Lineup for Home Workshops
Jet Tools is launching six new benchtop machines for hobbyists in late 2026, while Metabo HPT unveils a cordless pneumatic nailer system.

Jet Tools is targeting home workshop users with a new series of six benchtop machines. The tools, slated for release in September and October 2026, represent a significant expansion of the company's offerings for hobbyist woodworkers and DIYers.
Metabo HPT has also introduced a new line of cordless pneumatic nailers. The company claims its Air Spring Drive System Plus technology delivers performance comparable to traditional air tools without requiring an external compressor.
Jet's New Benchtop Tools
According to The Splinter Report from Popular Woodworking, Jet's new lineup is effectively all-new for the brand and comes at a lower price point aimed at the home shop. The release includes planers, a drill press, a grinder, a bandsaw, and a combination sander.

The Cordless Nailer Push
Pneumatic nailers have been a persistent holdout in the shift to battery-powered tools. Professionals often still prefer them. Metabo HPT is attempting to bridge that gap with its new Cordless Pneumatic Nailers.
The system uses what the company calls an "Air Spring Drive System Plus." It stores and releases compressed air within the tool itself. Metabo HPT claims this provides consistent driving force along with the speed and response of pneumatic fastening, but on a fully cordless platform. The report notes the company is calling this an entirely new class of tool, though the author expresses some uncertainty about how it differs from existing products like the Ryobi Airstrike.
Workshop Creativity and Client Relations
The weekly report also highlighted other woodworking topics. It featured a Reddit user, u/jc917, who creates detailed pixel-art coasters inspired by Pokemon. The process involves CNC carving, UV printing color into the cavities, and then hand-placing 24k gold leaf before filling with epoxy. The maker is also developing "shiny" versions of the coasters.
A video from Foureyes Furniture was noted for its take on client relations. It addresses a scenario where two clients want the same piece and explores how the maker handled that situation to keep both parties happy. The report finished with an out-of-context quote from woodworking instructor Christopher Schwarz about his unique classroom demeanor.
